Phew! The expression that comes to mind when I think of these wedding cupcakes. The call came the day we returned from our trip. I had barely put my bags down when the phone started ringing...4 missed calls? This must be a serious caller I thought. And then I got to speak to the  prospective bride and I knew I had to do it. She sounded really sweet on the phone and her "pleeeeeaaase tell me you can do it" when i told her the notice was a bit short, sealed the deal. Plus, when she told me who referred her...a childhood friend from wayyyy back who had told her sister in the States about us, I couldnt resist. So we set up a wedding consultancy for her cupcakes. The day Sharon and her cousin walked through my door, I knew I had made the right choice to accomodate her request. My CCh bride wanted cupcakes and boy! did she want cupcakes...500 petit beauties! Over the weeks that followed, we agreed on designs and flavours. Sharon wanted their initials on the cupcakes. Since we had a lot of cupcakes to work with, we decided to have bride cupcakes baked in gold liners, with the bride's initials on them and gold pearls. We also had Groom cupcakes baked in dark red liners and the groom's initials on them. We also had the in-betweens, dressed in ivory liners and rich swirls of buttercream frosting. All matched her beautiful decor choice of red, gold and ivory. The bride's verdict..."they were very very nice...I loved them". Glee.

It was a glorious day in April, the 30th day of the month. The weather was perfect. Perfect for transporting the delicious beauties we had worked very hard to make for a perfect bride. The bride Chineme had approached us months to her wedding to book desserts for her big day. She was very specific about the designs she wanted for her cupcakes much to my delight. She wanted daisys and sunflowers in various sizes and we were very glad to oblige her.  I wasn't surprised at her choice...those are very bubbly flowers and she had a very bubbly personality. Her colours were red, silver and white. Over the weeks that followed, we communicated a lot and during the course of one of our conversations, I suggested to her that rather than having just cupcakes for her wedding, she could have a dessert bar from one of our dessert bar packages. By this she would offer her guests a wider variety of desserts to suit every tastebud. She was delighted by this idea and gave us carte blanche to do as we pleased. The result? A very very pleased bride and in her own words..."Perfect job well done!!!"

A Lil' Something Something!

Hello guyz, I apologize for not having blogged in a while, we've been away tasting some amazing cupcakes at some amazing cupcake shops...yup, we've been busy eating cuppies. Dont blame us, afterall we gotta eat a lil something something once in a while right?

We visited the state of New-Jersey on our trip and in the city of Jersey City, right in the heart of Jersey City Mall, we found the Cupcake Salon my cousin-in-law had talked so much about. Even my daughter Chloe couldnt seem to stay off the delish cupcakes. The red velvet cupcake which I had topped with the creamy cream cheese frosting was a true delight. Enjoy ;-)

After we had our fill at the Cupcake Salon, we jetted off to the city of Hobotin. At this point, if your a cakeaholic like me, you will have guessed our next stop. I was besides myself with excitement...I couldnt wait. I was going to be in the bakery of the Cake Boss himself...yup I said "the Cake Boss...Buddy from the  show the Cake Boss. The same guy who makes those amazing extravagant cakes. The line to get into the store is typically about 5 hours long, people wait our in the sun, rain and wind just to get a taste of Carlo's Bake Shop. I felt like a kid going to a candy store.

Maimuna Yawo Maiyaki and Umar Oyekan

Wedding bells jingled for lovely Maimuna Yawo Maiyaki and Umar Oyekan on the 19th of March 2011 and CCh was delighted to be a part of their beautiful day. Prior to meeting Maimuna, we had been chatting on blackberry for a while hence our first meeting was a breeze as we chatted away as if we were old friends. I was immediately struck by her simplicity and niceness. As we delved into the business of the day...cake tasting and picking a design for the cupcakes, Maimuna mentioned that her wedding colors were bronze, gold and red. She also said she wasn't a big fan of flowers and the only flower she liked was Calla Lilies and was having a calla lily bridal bouquet. Well, u guessed it, we decided to do calla lilly cupcakes for our bride with gold dusted butterflies and red hearts. the result? A happy sister-in-law, Nurah Oyekan, who had initially contacted us for the cakes and a satisfied bride. CCh wishes Maimuna and Umar a happy and blissful life together.

Sugar Cookies 'n' More

Hi guyz, today we had an order for birthday cupcakes for a guy. So we tot...hmmm, colorful birthday candles and not so colorful frosting would make a nice combo. We decided to go with 6 different flavours of cupcakes as per order request, all topped with white chocolate flavoured buttercream frosting, milk chocolate buttercream frosting and dark chocololate buttercream frosting. Pictures follow:

Earlier in the week, we introduced our yummy sugar cookies, They can be cut into a variety of shapes to suit any occassion. They were so yummmmm, I couldnt stop eating them  ;- )

Latest Givings

So I thought a page showcasing everything and anything new from CCH's kitty bag would be nice...hence this. This month we have added our Cupcake Bouquets and yayy...a new cupcake flavour, appropriately named "Coconut Cloud" to our already delish treats. These are in addition to our Giant Cupcake Cake which we started in February. When you see the coconut cloud, you will see how well the name fits...the frosting is spread to resemble a cloud, after which it is dipped in freshly grated coconut. The cupcake is baked with coconut juice and filled with bits of shredded coconut. It is absolute yummmm, if am allowed to say so myself :-).
